The Beetle Project was one of the first projects we did using Photoshop. The fifnished project resembles a standard magazine ad. A lot of time was spent on learning various selection tools, painting and makinf layer masks.
The Reflection Project was another fake ad. It involved creating 2 layers for both the floor and wall areas so a "spotlight" effect could be achieved. By creating a feathered hole in the top layer, the bottom layer could shine through which creates the sense of a spotlight. The reflection is created by copying the product layer, flipping it vertically, and reducing its transparency. This effect is often seen in car and jewelry ads.
